The VanderLaan Funeral Home has been serving the needs of families in Western Michigan since 1949. We have consistently updated our facilities and our services to keep pace with the ever changing needs of the community. Our visitation rooms and chapel have been designed to provide a comfortable home-like atmosphere with ease of access for the elderly and handicapped.
Our staff consists of well qualified individuals who are at your service 24 hours a day. We listen and work very closely with a family, assisting them in the planning of a service that meets and fulfills their wishes. A service can be designed to fit any budget. Our experienced directors provide attention to help a family review service alternatives and select the type of service that meets their needs.
We also want to take the opportunity to thank the community for their support and prayers for Fred and our family during his battle with cancer. Even though he is no longer with us, our tradition of a family owned and operated funeral home continues with the recent addition of Richard VanderLaan to our staff. Richard is the son of the late Fred VanderLaan and current owner, Joanne VanderLaan and the grandson of the founder, the late Raymond VanderLaan.
